Qualifications

In 1988 I underwent a three year Shiatsu training, attending the London College of Shiatsu. I went on to teach and assess First Aid for St John Ambulance, and then to study the Foundations of Psychology at London University.  In my life I have benefited from many forms of Complementary and Alternative medicine and am delighted to work at Callistherapy where many of these different treatments are available.

Experience

I am a fully qualified Shiatsu Practitioner and Teacher, registered with the UK Shiatsu Society and the CNHC. I have 20 years Shiatsu experience and work with private clients in Northants and Harley St, London. I also with the NHS in psychiatric care, with businesses and with MIND.

My original training was in magazine and book production and I worked in the fashion world for a couple of years. My interest in Oriental Medicine began on my travels in China and the Far East where I studied Tai Chi, Meditation and spent time in 2 beautiful Buddhist monasteries. I returned to the UK and moved from the world of fashion and publishing, to the area of physical and emotional health: a rocky path at times!

My particular passion is for Shiatsu and working with emotional and mental difficulties that can assail us all in life. I have always loved the Oriental interpretation of health as a changing thing, where nothing is written in stone. An approach that takes into consideration our history, our lifestyles, our emotions and how they effect our mind, body and spirit. I have found Shiatsu to be an encouraging and beneficial approach. It looks at our needs, and strengths and weaknesses, and can offer useful insights and practical health enhancing tips.

As well as Shiatsu, I am a keen fan of gardening, cooking, bantams and last but not least my Springer Spaniel!
