How it works

The Foundation makes available to the general public a wide range of therapies and courses for which charges are made at normal market rates to provide the basic funds to run the Healing Centre in Wellingborough. But discretionary rates are available for those on reduced incomes and no one in genuine need is turned away on grounds of money.

The Foundation also runs special projects for the benefit of people with specific health problems at very low cost. Two projects, Oasis and CALM, are supported by our own fundraising. Others are designed to be financially self-supporting.

All our therapists and tutors are self-employed. Those in the core team pay a fixed percentage of their takings to the Foundation. Other therapists and tutors hire rooms at fixed rates.

All of our membership subscriptions, donations, open day proceeds and sponsorship goes to help fund our projects directly. None of it goes on administration.

The Foundation is run largely by volunteers. All our receptionists are volunteers. Much of the work of organising the centre is done on a voluntary basis. This is a community facility with which anyone can help in any way they can. We now have a group of gardeners, all of whom have benefited from the Healing Centre, who meet regularly to maintain the borders and pot plants, front and back.

The Centre Manager is Tina Denny. She is responsible to the Executive Committee, which is made up of the following individuals:

  • Chairman - Charles Callis
  • Secretary - Susan Trudgian
  • Acting Treasurer - Charles Callis
  • Members - Denise Richardson, Kate Bowe, Julie Knighton, Yvonne Hinckesman,                 Tanyia Turvill & Maggie Paterson
