What is Remedial Spinal Therapy?

Robert has been classically trained at the McTimoney Chiropractic College in Oxford receiving an Honours Degree in Human Chiropractic, his current treatment uses subtle adjustments to the bones of your body to maintain correct alignment of your spine and to ensure your body’s nervous system works effectively. Through the gentle nature of this treatment method, pain and discomfort can be relieved; also mobility may be increased.

What happens during Remedial Spinal Therapy?

Your therapist will take a full case history regarding your general health background as well as details of your symptoms, which helps towards the assessment and analysis of your problem. A thorough examination of all joints in your body, from head to toe will follow. Upon finding a problem, your therapist will use one of a number of light, swift and dextrous techniques, unique to the McTimoney method, to achieve realignment.

Who is it for?

A misalignment of the vertebrae or bones in the spine may commonly occur for a number of reasons; amongst the most common are poor posture, incorrect / heavy lifting, car or sporting accidents, falls, stress and childbirth / pregnancy. Any misalignment of your spinal column may result in a nerve becoming compressed, and this can lead to discomfort, pain or restricted mobility. Patients report a wide range of improvements, ranging from relief from migraines, neck and shoulder problems, tennis elbow and carpal tunnel syndrome, to relief from lower back pain and sciatica. The treatment is gentle enough for people of all ages, including babies and children, pregnant women and the elderly.
